    That's awesome but Google, wouldn't it be better to use Chrome as your browser in videos like this? Unless you were trying to say that it works even on Apple computers…

    @pjlehtim it does work!
    I got the G1 and with the default browser and Steel you can only view them. But if you use the new Opera Mini browser (available on the marketplace) and you go to your google docs and scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see an option to view as if on your PC. Then you can add new docs and edit! YAY!

    I don't think a password's needed. If you're sharing with a person, you've given that person access already, why add another password? My group wouldn't use it if they had to log in *and* key in a second password. I think it's great as it is.

    @MartyniProductions – you need to sign in to your Google account to access any doc. You use a password when you sign in. All users you share with must also enter their password to get access

    Ughhh I love you Goggle but you didn't have to buy youtube. I hate having to make a Gmail account to make a channel instead of Yahoo or Hotmail :(.

    Dunno if you've been answered yet but I figure I'd throw in my 2 pennies.

    I have found that if you share with someone directly (like emailing it to another person, a collaborator) they will need a gmail to edit it. Otherwise, depending on the share status of the file in question, all they will likely be able to do is comment or use the chat assuming they even get that far.

    Hope this helps! 🙂

    Just an FYI, save the OpenOffice file as Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP and it will work on any current version of MS Word.

    Google docs shows up in "filipino" for my  classmates which is why they don't use it. I can't remember how I got mine to show up in english. but basically , google should make it default english because people who work on documents  are used to microsoft word  in ENGLISH.

    Can you give some people the ability to edit the document? And, other you only want them to have the ability to view it? Is there an either-or option?
