it said that bro We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser.

If you have installed Java and there is an error with the verification, there could be a configuration issue (eg. browser, Java control panel, security settings) or the Java plug-in is blocked by the browser. Try restarting your browser before trying to verify the installation again, and check that the browser allows Java to run.

    » See the troubleshooting FAQ
» Try to verify Java again

I recently installed Windows 10, downloaded the latest versions of Firefox and Java and the pesky "plugin is required to display content" message shows up when I try to reach the USA Today puzzle. I've tried the various fixes listed to no avail. Windows new "Edge" browser won't print, and Firefox won't display, so I'm left with one choice… Internet Explorer since it doesn't give me the message and it does print my content. I've used Firefox for years and hate to say good-bye to it, but unless this problem is fixed, I' have no other option.

One reason I have tried Foxfire so many times.. all the BS you have to go through to get something to work. Instructions are always vague.. being a senior citizen it's very confusing like the old days going from a rotary phone to a push button phone and they had cords you plugged into the wall.. simple.. what freaking plug-in are you talking about I have down loaded crap for 2 hours and still does not work… old man rant !!!!!!!!!!!

It may also be that you do not have Flash downloaded. I verified Java and everything and it didn't work. But then I downloaded Flash and now it works.

Happens with embedded files too. Not only with flash and java, but with html as well. Even embedding html page within another page gives "A plugin is needed to display this content". Funny, that Google Chrome and Edge do not have any issues with this. Conclusion: it's purely Mozilla Firefox issue.

Getting so fucking sick of this bullshit. I'm just trying to watch some episodes of Wildboyz at http://watchwildboyz.blogspot.com/ and the stupid goddamn videos won't play. I've tried it on Chrome, Explorer, and Firefox and none of them fucking work. It's just a blank space where the video player should be. On Firefox it gives me this vague piece of shit message about needing a fucking plug-in. What goddamn motherfucking plug-in is it talking about? I had to go into the stupid coding of the page and managed to decipher something about Shockwave Flash, which I downloaded. STILL doesn't fuckin work. I don't even really want to watch the stupid show at this point, I just hate it when technology fucks me over. I AM MAN. Technology is my bitch. FUCK you, technology.

I finally installed Java and Flashplayer as there were some sites like the Telegraph that had content I could not see. Now I can see that content. However now it broke some very important sites and deactivating everything isn't getting it back to how it was, so be VERY CAREFUL what you do, maybe create a restore point. Also a particular Java NpRuntime bla bla I installed as required by yet another site is known to be malvare and was instantly blocked by my browser. So there you go.

I installed Java AND Flash AND VLC media player, yet it didn't work. After some more digging, I installed silverlight (http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx) a media player for Firefox (and IE I suppose) and it WORKED! If none of the other tips don't work for you try this 🙂
