My creative passion is to write short stories and to make short flims. I had started to get into youtube to work on my time management and to dive into video editing. So, right now, it's a slow process (uploading a video I feel is an accomplishment) but it's a process; I've never did anything with technology until this year. I admit I need to get better with my time management (despite having a full time job). But the title of your video was so spot on, and I loved how you gave examples of each creative career.

From an earlier video, I believe you mentioned the "30 minute" aspect where if you feel like you're bogged down with so many pursuits or if you've spent a lot of time away from some of your goals-spend 30 minutes on something you want to build upon and then take it from there. That's one of the best advice I've gotten-and I take it to heart. I love your videos!

I want to be a concept artist, but I also would love to be a YouTuber or twitch streamer. I’m pursuing concept artist since I can get a job at a company and have a decent salary. I’m still on my creative journey and probably always will be so yeah.. that’s the answer to your question I guess. Thanks as usual for the great advice and tips!

I'm a self_taught 3d animator that use blender, the goal I want to achieve is making animated series and have fan support.
I'm thinking about using instagram, but I not quite sure what to post as a 3d animator.
I also have Youtube channel but I upload slow because animation takes time, and I have currently no job and no studio wanna take me, look into freelancing but no result so far.

I'm actually a multi-skills person, which is good and bad… a software developer, with a math degree, 5 spoken languages, and an amateur musician. All that wasted because of lack of strategy. Now I'm trying to rebuild myself with a solid strategy to monetize everything I can.
Currently I'm thinking of going web-development and music.
Here is a piece of music I've written couple of days ago. Is this something I can monetize?

Thank you for sharing. I love motion graphics animation….but…..Roberto. After doing this for nearly 10 years very consistently as well as learning Illustrator, I still feel my design skills are very lacking. Same goes for my keyframing abilities. I look at other people's animations and they are so realistic, beautiful and silky smooth. I've spent literally thousands of hours animating and not sure where to take my career from here. These ideas are all so great and it's good to hear you affirm them!

Of the 9 careers you've mentioned here, I have the growing skills in Photography, Video Editing, Graphic Design, Film Making & Video Production, Audio, & Content Creator. WIth the other 2 kinda learning just so I can do it. Unfortunately, while my skills are varied where I live and my general life means that I don't have the fall back to push any of these past hobbies until I can survive past a paycheck. I still train multiple hours a week but between life and a move, I find it hard to make money off any of these at this very moment.

Hey, Roberto, what's your take on the latest Apple updates? I just got the new update to FCPX, and–apparently–I'm going to lose the ability to edit my old assets because of some arbitrary decision in Cupertino. I guess it's time to dump Apple for a company that values creative professionals 😔

Same thing happened last time Apple lost Jobs. Except now, he ain't coming back.

This has given me a few ideas
I'd also love to learn how to animate in a more traditional style using digital methods. It's been about 10 years since I've used flash properly and I have some traditional drawings and other ideas I'd really like to try and animate and I kinda get the feeling they could be pretty huge, but it's just a matter of how to tween using photoshop layers and how to frame by frame animate. there's probably a ton of tutorials out here on youtube now, but you just reminded me that I want to try it at some point.

#QOTD the reason why I haven't properly started (despite receiving offers) is I don't know my value. When someone asks me "what's your price" I don't know weather I'd be undervaluing, or overvaluing what I can provide. I could be charging an amount that's grossly undervaluing my time and work (but I guess I can always raise the price) but at the same time, I'm not sure if the offer I have in my mind, is ridiculously over priced. It's always been a big fear of mine and I guess one of the biggest things holding me back… asking for money in terms of "this is what my services are worth"

Kind of why I'm thinking about starting with 5iver even though I know how exploitive and bad it can be, but it's probably a good way to get a general idea of how others value their time and services and I can price myself accordingly.
